About our Costa Brava walking holiday

The walks take place in the magnificent Costa Brava region of Northern Spain, close to the medieval city of Girona. In 2024 and 2025 the holiday was marketed purely as walking the famous Cami de Ronda, which is a 30 mile linear walk, where we started each day’s walking from where we finished the day before. Whilst this path will feature heavily in the 2026 programme, we feel it’s a crime to exclude other stunning parts of the Costa Brava and will be mixing things up a bit in 2026. The holiday is a wonderful combination of lovely comfortable walks, fine food/wine and a great hotel, where none of our guests pay a supplement for single occupancy of a double room. Fun and laughter are also important ingredients of our holidays.

The walks

Our walks all take place in and around the Girona region of Northern Spain. During the holiday, you’ll enjoy walking along fabulous medieval costal paths, through lush green countryside and enjoy strolling through villages that seem to come from another time. The walks are all roughly 6 miles in distance and we take these at the pace of the slowest in the group. There is also a backup vehicle in place, should somebody need a lift and this also allows us to act quickly in the unlikely event of an accident. The vehicle carries all needed drinking water for the day, plus tea/coffee and biscuits for our halfway break. Both of your holiday guides/hosts will be in attendance each day to help in any way we can.

Our holiday base

This holiday is based from the fabulous Hotel Barcarola, which is just 50 metres away from one of the prettiest beaches on the Costa Brava. The hotel boasts bright clean rooms, all of which have a large balcony or terrace. The hotel also has a lovely outdoor pool and a bar/restaurant on site. The breakfast here is superb and a perfect way of setting us up for a day’s walking. There are beachfront bars and restaurants just a short stroll from the hotel and the bustling fishing port of Sant Feliu de Guixols is just a 30-minute walk away.

The food

Our guests often tell us that our holidays are as much a gastronomic experience as they are a walking holiday and, it’s fair to say, the food and wine are far superior to what you’d normally expect on an activity-based break. Throughout the week, we enjoy lunch at carefully chosen local restaurants. As food lovers ourselves, we take great pleasure in personally researching and selecting the very best places for our guests to enjoy memorable meals. Some restaurants are right beside the beach, with wonderful views across the Mediterranean, while others are tucked away in charming old country houses, far from mainstream tourism. All wine is included with lunch and you are welcome to drink as much or as little as you like. A cold drink on arrival is also part of your holiday package.

• This holiday is open to both couples and singles and no single supplement is payable beyond the quoted price.

*Flight options:

The Costa Brava region is served by both Girona and Barcelona airports. Girona is just 30 minutes from our resort and is, therefore, our preferred option. Barcelona, around a 2 hour journey, offers a wider choice of flights from the UK. If Girona doesn’t provide a suitable flight option for you and you wish to fly into Barcelona instead, please check timings with us prior booking, to ensure that a viable transfer can be arranged.
