About our Costa Brava walking holiday
Our Costa Brava walking holiday takes you through one of Northern Spain’s most spectacular regions, close to the beautiful medieval city of Girona. While the famous Cami de Ronda remains an important part of the experience, we also explore some of the lesser-known corners of this stunning coastline and countryside.
The result is a wonderful mix of comfortable, scenic walking, beautiful coastal paths, excellent local food and wine, and a carefully chosen hotel where you can relax at the end of each day.
There’s no single supplement for solo occupancy of a double room and, as with all our holidays, good company, plenty of laughter and a relaxed atmosphere are very much part of the experience.
The walks
Our walks take place throughout the beautiful Girona region of Northern Spain, combining spectacular medieval coastal paths with lush green countryside and charming villages that seem untouched by time.
The walks are typically around six miles and always taken at the pace of the slowest person in the group, so there’s no pressure on anyone. Both of your holiday hosts and guides accompany you each day, providing friendly company, local knowledge and support whenever needed.
A backup vehicle also follows the route, ready to provide a lift if required and allowing us to respond quickly in the unlikely event of an emergency. It also carries plenty of fresh drinking water, along with tea, coffee and biscuits for our halfway break, the perfect excuse to stop, recharge and enjoy the scenery.
Our holiday base
Our Costa Brava holiday is based at the excellent Hotel Barcarola, just 50 metres from one of the region’s prettiest beaches, Sant Pol. It’s the perfect place to unwind after a day’s walking, with bright, comfortable rooms, each with its own generous balcony or terrace.
There’s a lovely outdoor pool, with an on-site bar and restaurant, and the breakfast is excellent – just what you need to set you up for a day on the trails.
When you’re ready to explore, there are plenty of beachfront bars and restaurants just a few minutes’ stroll away. The lively fishing port of Sant Feliu de Guíxols is also within easy walking distance, around 30 minutes along the coast.
It’s a relaxed, comfortable base with everything you need close at hand.
