About our New Year walking holiday on Mallorca
Our New Year walking holiday on Mallorca is as much a cultural experience as it is a walking holiday. The week is a wonderful combination of fine guided walking, amazing food/wine and a chance to see how another country enjoys the festive period. All of this from a boutique hotel set in Palma’s most fashionable area.
The walks
All the walks during this holiday take place in and amongst Mallorca’s magnificent ‘Tramuntana’ mountain range. They are all around 6 miles in distance, fully backed up, with 2 guides and a reconnaissance vehicle in attendance. This serves as both a way of carrying our drinking water, plus tea and coffee, which we enjoy during our day’s walking. Palma, our holiday base, is ideally connected to enjoy all parts of the island and our transfer times should never be more than around 40 minutes.
The food
Many of our guests say that we should market our holidays as a gastronomic experience as much as a walking holiday. Whilst we probably wouldn’t go that far, the food that you’ll experience during the week is a level above that which you’d normally expect from this type of holiday. We enjoy researching this aspect of the holiday as much as the walking and, during the week, you’ll eat at 6 fine restaurants, including a grand New Year’s Eve supper, where we put on our glad rags and enjoy New Year with the locals. All wine with your meal is included and you won’t be presented with a separate bill for this the end of the week.
