Our mixed easy walking holidays on Mallorca combine gentle guided walks, fabulous food/wine and a lovely coastal holiday base.
The walks
All walks for this holiday are of 3 to 4 miles in distance and take place in the magnificent Tramuntana mountain range. Whilst some of these mountains are quite high, we try to start our day’s walking at a high point and either walk downhill or along flattish mountain ridges. There are always 2 guides in attendance and a 9-seater van traces the route. This is in case someone needs a ride along the way or, in the unlikely case of an accident, we can react quickly. It also carries all drinking water, walking sticks, along with tea/coffee and biscuits, which we consume on route.
Our holiday base
This holiday is based from the lovely 4-star ‘Mar Hotels Alcanada’ on the bay of Alcudia. The hotel is not part of a large resort, but instead, is situated on a quiet avenue, just 50 metres away from a charming little bay and just 700 metres from Alcanada beach. Whilst being situated in a peaceful location, the bustling Port of Alcudia is only a 30-minute walk away or 5 minutes in a taxi. Each large air-conditioned room has a private bathroom, sofa, fridge, hairdryer and TV with UK channels. There is also an outdoor swimming pool with sun loungers. If you just want to relax in the evenings, the hotel has a great little bar/restaurant, which serves lovely tapas and there is a small supermarket right next door to the hotel itself.
