About our Camí de Ronda mixed walking holiday

The walking takes place along the Camí de Ronda in Northern Spain, close to Girona. It’s a stunning combination of coastal paths, woodland tracks and picture postcard fishing villages. The holiday includes wonderful beachside accommodation,  fine food/wine, plus lots of fun and laughter. This holiday is open to couples and single travellers alike

The walks

The Camí de Ronda is a 50km coastal path running between the fishing port of Sant Feliu de Guixols and the beautiful inland village of Begur. It offers a wonderful combination of coastal tracks, beautiful beaches and and villages from which dreams are made. During the holiday, we walk the whole path over 5 days and start each walk from where we finished the day before. There are some climbs, but generally the walks are comfortable and with only gentle undulations. As with all our walking holidays, there are 2 guides in attendance and a backup vehicle close by. Along with being a “hitch a ride” option, the vehicle also carries required drinking water, plus tea and coffee, which we take on route.

Our holiday base

This holiday is based from the fabulous Hotel Barcarola, which is just 2km away from the start point of our walk in Sant Feliu de Guixols and only 30 metres away from one of the prettiest beaches on the Costa Brava. The hotel boasts bright clean rooms, all of which have a huge balcony. The hotel also has a lovely outdoor pool and a fabulous bar/restaurant on site. The breakfast here is wonderful and a perfect way of setting us up for a day’s walking. A short stroll away, there are bars and restaurants, some of which are on the beach itself.

The food

It’s often said that we could sell our holidays as a gastronomic experience and our meals are far superior to which you’d normally expect from this type of holiday. During the holiday, we take lunch at several local restaurants. Some of these are used by the locals and we research them on an ongoing basis. Some are right on the beach and offer great views as we enjoy our post walk food and wine. The wine is unlimited and included in your holiday price. Not quite a gastronomic holiday, but very nearly.

*Flight options:

The Costa Brava area is served by both Girona and Barcelona Airports. Whilst Girona is much closer to our resort (only 1/2 hour drive) and therefore our preferred option, Barcelona (around a 2 hour journey) offers a greater variety of flights from the UK. If Girona doesn’t offer a suitable option for you and you wish to fly into Barcelona, please check timings with us prior to booking, to ensure that a viable transfer can be arranged.
